Habitat for Humanity of Medina County was established in 1991 as a non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing locally and globally by building and renovating simple, decent, affordable homes to sell to low-income families Habitat is dedicated both locally and globally to construct, rehabilitate and preserve homes; advocate for fair and just housing policies; and provide training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

ReStore Donation Pickup Associate

Scope of Responsibilities

The Restore Donation Pickup and Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting all aspects of Restore operations while focusing on obtaining donated items from local residences and businesses. This associate will operate as a driver or co-driver and run a prescribed route to pick up donations for the Medina County ReStore.

Hours / Compensation:

This hourly 32 – 36 hours non-exempt position is a member of the ReStore Team and reports to the ReStore Manager. Starting hourly rate is $16.00 per hour.

Specific Duties:

  • Drive (or ride) ReStore donation truck on prescribed route throughout Medina County, screen items that are not accepted at the ReStore based on type / condition and help unload donated items into the warehouse.
  • Provide information for the donor about the HFHMC mission and how their donation will assist in its’ attainment.
  • Works with ReStore Warehouse Coordinator to move and organize items stored in warehouses.
  • Assists customers in the safe loading of their vehicle.
  • Assists customers in the safe unloading of donation(s) from their vehicle.
  • Makes minor repair(s) / or tests donation to prepare for sale.
  • Performs job tasks and duties in accordance to all safety procedures
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Restore Manager & Warehouse Coordinator

Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Basic navigation skills.
  • Ability to effectively load and unload a box truck.
  • Provides exceptional customer service
  • Values a team-oriented approach to decision-making and problem solving
  • Must be able to operate light equipment such as pallet jacks, lift gates, and hand trucks.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities with limited oversight.
  • Must secure all safety training certification as needed to operate ReStore equipment.
